On 29 August 2009 at 6.00 p.m., the Consul General of Malaysia in Mumbai, Mr. Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah and wife had hosted an iftaar party and tarawikh prayer for the Malaysian muslims in Mumbai at their official residence in Bandra, Mumbai. Many did turn up at the party responding to the Consul General’s invitation.
As soon as it was time to break the fast, all guests were ushered to the dining hall and Tuan Haji Rahim was called upon to recite doa for breaking fast before everyone could enjoy the desserts prepared by the host and the members of PERWAKILAN MUMBAI. Maghrib prayer was carried out a few minutes later and was led Tuan Haji Rahim as the imam. Men, women and even children, came together and in unison they all bowed to Allah s.w.t.
After the Maghrib prayer, everyone once again gathered at the dining hall to enjoy the delicious Malay-style main course and chicken beriyani prepared by the host. While savouring the food, they took the chance of catching up with each other after not seeing for so long due to monsoon break.
Next, Isyaa’ prayer was performed followed by the tarawikh prayer. All prayers were led by the same imam, Tuan Haji Rahim. Just about a few minutes before the party ended, on behalf of everyone, the Consul General took the opportunity to present Tuan Haji Rahim a farewell gift and had wished Tuan Haji Rahim good luck with his job transfer in Bangladesh.
